One thing I love almost as much as music is horror movies. I'm not really sure why or how or when I started to like them but I can't get enough of the adrenaline rush and the thrill of watching them. I also enjoy when the characters are just being stupid and they open a door or the closet even though they know the person or ghost or monster is in there. Or when dramatic irony occurs. You know when you see the thing behind the door or right behind the character, while they are completely oblivious to the situation. Here are two of my favorite horror movies.
Annabelle: One reason I like this movie is because I think movies about a haunted doll is pretty cool. This movie is the prequel to The Conjuring, a movie that came out about 3 years ago. But in Annabelle, you learn the history of the doll and why the demon within it is so strong. In the movie, the mother and father try to save themselves from the demon haunting them, because they bought Annabelle for their newborn daughter. Overall, this is a great movie and I enjoy it very much, and would definitely watch it again!
Ouija: A reason I like this movie is because to me, I really like the aspect in the movie of using the Ouija board. Although I've never used one, they are dangerous. And the movie definitely shows that. At one part in the movie, the main character, her sister, and 3 friends gather at the house of a close friend that died. But when they use the Ouija board to communicate with her, they awaken something dark and evil. All in all, this movie is very good, and I would definitely see it again!
I really like those movies because they add a lot of jump-scares and suspenseful music, which to me makes a horror movie much better. When I was younger, me and a couple of my friends tried to make a horror movie. But unfortunately, it didn't turn out very well. So I just decided to leave the movie making to the experts. I'm sure most of you have heard of the series of horror movies starting with Insidious. Insidious Chapter 3 is coming out this summer and I can't wait to see it! Although, I have to watch Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2, before I see the third one. You know, so I don't spoil it for myself. For Christmas last year, I got multiple horror movies on DVD including Mama, The Quiet Ones, and The Exorcist. I was very excited and I still enjoy watching them! Except if it is late at night, I may decide against watching a scary movie. Because you never know what lurks out in the dark...BOO!
